Innovation Series:

Abrasive Processes and Seals

Friday, November 14th, 2008

WPI Campus Center, Odeum

Innovation Series

The 5th year of the research and educational seminar held by the WPI Surface Metrology Laboratory will explore a new format that stresses innovation. The first day will emphasize surface textures for bioengineering applications, including biomedical devices, and the second day will emphasize abrasion of surfaces for sealing. The innovation sessions will attempt to work towards solutions for industrial problems in design, manufacturing, and QA.

The second day will be the Abrasive Processes and Seals Seminar. Information on the first day can be found here: Surface Textures for Bioengieering

Friday 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM:
Includes: breakfast, lunch, tutorial on a fundamental look at abrasive processes, presentations by Dr. Changsheng Guo from the United Technologies Research Center, Dr. Bi Zhang from UConn, Dr. John Webster from Cool Grind, and Brian Rutkiewicz from Saint Gobain plus an innovation session with the above.
